Make A Start
By Niyi Adeoshun

It has been said that "if we follow the road of by-and-by, we will eventually arrive at the house of never". This saying is true of many potential Christian businessmen and women. They are waiting to have everything they want before starting a business. All you need now is that little seed called idea, that strong desire, that dream, that vision. You can't use what you don't have, you might as well start with what you have.

From this point onwards, follow God's example in Genesis 1; say what you will do and do it, no matter how small. Remember that he who swims with God never goes to the bottom.

"Though you started with little, you will end with much" - Job 8:7 (The Living Bible).

Don't underestimate yourself.
The opinion of others about you is not nearly as important as what you think about yourself. Do you view yourself as God views you? Do you recognise the gifts and ability God has placed within you? (Phil 4:13, Romans 8:37, 2Cor. 5:17) Once you know who you are in Christ, you will not be quick to underestimate the ability you have in Him; nor will you allow the opinions of others to keep you from rightly valuing yourself. Above all, look at what God Almighty can do through you. If God is really your Senior Partner, you will make your plans BIG.
"Confidence is the father of achievements. It re-enforces ability, doubles energy, buttresses mental faculties, and increase power". - Orison Sweh Marden

Make a decision
If you will stop, don't start. There is no point in starting something that you know you will stop when you encounter problems. Make a full, no quit, no turning back decision to succeed and you will. If the heart is willing, it will find a thousand ways; but an unwilling heart will found a thousand excuses.
"An enterprise, when fairly once begun, should not be left till all that ought is won". William Shakespear
"Strengthening your weak parts, developing, exposing and promoting your strong parts is what success is all about". - Bishop Fred Addo

Once you have now made up your mind to go all the way - with God's help, you might learn the fundamentals of business on the web from our business articles on this website.
