The Webmasters' Diligence
By Niyi Adeoshun
Web-design experts agree that
it is possible for a good website to remain competitive for
up to two years without a major upgrade. But what happens
between the time you launch your website and its next major
transformation; taking into consideration the rapid changes
on the internet and the requests of your clients? Good
Maintenance!!!
Good updates, maintenance can
keep a website as fresh and as competitive you want it to
be. "Do you see a man diligent in his business? He will stand
before kings; he will not stand before obscure men" - Proverbs
22:29. The word diligence means "constant in effort
or exertion to accomplish what is undertaken; attentive; industrious;
not idle or negligent" Struggle to improve. In every effort,
improve on your dream for your website or other endeavour.
Make it that possible for your clients to see improvements
almost every time they come.
Diligence is a biblical principle.
Proverbs 10:4 says "He who has a slack hand becomes poor.
But the hand of the diligent makes rich". The diligent person
sees what needs to be done and keeps at it until he gets the
desired result. He figures that anything worth having is worth
working-at and waiting for.
When I started NukanWeb.com,
my aim for the site and its content was (and still is) to
follow the pattern of James 3:17 which says "But the wisdom
that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality
and without hypocrisy". First, the unadulterated Word of God
will come out from it. People with questions will find useful
answers and direction there. It will generate money to keep
itself going. It will cater for up and coming businesses Christian
or not but at the same time the whole world must know of the
goodness of God through the site.
I can't say I have reached that
goal yet but the 'keep at it' spirit imparted on us as Christians
keeps me going and I believe it will keep you going too; if
you decide to be diligent in anything that you undertake.
