Persistence Wins The Day
By Niyi Adeoshun
The Internet has opened up the
possibilities for many people to follow their dreams, visions
and aspiration. But not every is really successful in the Internet
business world. From experience, I know the beginning can be
exciting but somewhere along the line we seem to loose steam
and somehow begin to back-pedal. We fail to realise that when
your website is built, the work has just begun. It is also important
to know that over HALF of all successful entrepreneurs experience
at least one failure along the way to success. Success demands
persistence.
Picture this. If Jesus Christ had just been born in the wonderful
way that it happened and that was all, He wouldn't have accomplished
anything (and Christmas would have been meaningless!). The purpose
of His coming was really in His death. That was why He 'went
the full distance' to fulfil His purpose on earth.
So what do you do if you find out
that things are not going as you have anticipated and you still
have a long way to go to your original goal(s)? Here are a few
things that will help you stand your ground and be a success.
1. First of all, if you haven't
done so, get a business plan. As in all businesses, having a
well-thought-out business plan for your Internet business will
make life much easier in the long run. Careful planning means
you're less likely to forget things, gives you targets to aim
for and helps you measure your success.
2. Consider the uniqueness of you product
or service. There are probably already about a million similar
products, so why should anyone do business with you?
3. Successfully selling any product
or services is a mind set.
Set your mind to creating a positive self-image and self-esteem.
Whatever the product or service, you make the sale within you,
by believing that it is possible, before it takes place with
the customer. When we believe in ourselves (and in God), the
sale will more easily take care of itself. "God has not given
us the spirit of fear......." Timid people never amount to much.
4. Education is a continuous
process. Learn as much as you can about Internet marketing.
Learn from those who have already become a success online. Buy
these marketers' materials and study them intently. Model your
actions after what they do. If at all possible, find someone
that you can rely upon to be your mentor and help you get going.
You can save hours of frustration. Many people's dreams online
die when they discover they still have a few things to learn
before success comes. Don't be ignorance defeat you. Follow
your dreams.
5. Nothing can replace
old-fashion hard work. You have to promote, promote and promote
your products and services. You may have to set aside fund for
marketing without which you can't do much promotion. As we work
to let people know about your site and why they should visit,
participate in what they are doing. Be attentive, answer their
questions promptly, acknowledge their suggestions etc. Let them
know you are available and interested in them.
Once you've started, persistently do the right things. Whatever
you do, dont do it halfway. Complete the course and your
hard work will pay off in the end. God Bless You.
